Discover the luminous and tactile world of encaustic painting — an ancient art form using molten beeswax, pigment, and heat to create layered, expressive works of art. In this 4-hour workshop, artist and instructor Julie Notaro will guide you through techniques for building layers, marks, transparency, texture, and depth while experimenting with various media, tools, color, and composition.
Held at Fraiche Arts, inside the world-famous Arts Factory in the Las Vegas Arts District, this immersive workshop offers a supportive and inspiring environment to play, explore, and uncover the magic of painting with encaustic wax.
Class will begin with a demonstration of the materials and showcase various techniques.
All supplies are provided. Each student will make two artworks, 4×4 and 8×8.
